1. Who We Are
Cashgaroo is a personal finance budgeting application developed and operated as an independent developer project. References to “Cashgaroo”, “we”, “us”, or “our” in this policy refer to the Cashgaroo application and its developer.

2. What Data We Collect
We collect only the minimum data necessary to provide you with a working budgeting experience:

We do not collect your bank credentials, payment card numbers, or connect to your bank accounts directly.
3. How We Use Your Data
Your data is used exclusively to:
- Provide and maintain the Cashgaroo app
- Sync your budget data across your devices
- Process transaction-list screenshots through AI to create editable transaction drafts
- Store receipt photo attachments when you choose to attach them to transactions
- Authenticate you securely via Google or Apple sign-in
- Send transactional emails (e.g. password reset) — no marketing emails
- Diagnose and fix technical issues
We do not use your data for advertising, sell it to third parties, or use it to train AI models.
4. Third-Party Services
Cashgaroo uses the following third-party services to operate. Each has its own privacy policy and data handling practices:
Stores your account information and financial data securely. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit.
Transaction-list screenshots you submit for AI scanning are sent to OpenAI to create editable transaction drafts. Images are not stored by OpenAI beyond the processing request per their API policy.
If you choose to sign in with Google, Google shares your email and display name with us.
If you choose to sign in with Apple, Apple shares your email (or relay email) and name with us.
5. Data Storage & Security
Your financial data is stored in Supabase, a SOC 2 Type II certified platform. Data is encrypted both at rest and in transit using industry-standard TLS.
Transaction-list screenshots submitted for AI scanning are transmitted securely and are not permanently stored on our servers after processing is complete. Receipt photos you choose to attach to transactions are stored as part of your account data until you remove them or delete your account.
While we use commercially reasonable measures to protect your data, no method of electronic storage or transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
6. Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
Access
Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Correction
Update or correct inaccurate information in your account.
Deletion
Delete your account and all associated data at any time from the app settings.
Portability
Export your transaction and budget data in a readable format.

7. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated personal data and financial records are permanently deleted within 30 days.
Anonymised, aggregated usage statistics that cannot identify you may be retained for product improvement purposes.
8. Children's Privacy
Cashgaroo is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you through the app.
Your continued use of Cashgaroo after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
